Chelsea Place Residents "Go Purple"

June 18, 2015

Proud residents of  Chelsea Place at Chesterwood Village show off the "Go Purple" quilt that they helped stitch under the direction of Chesterwood activities employee Cathy Howard. Chelsea Place is the memory-care community at both Chesterwood Village and Doverwood Village. We all appreciate the beautiful talents of these residents!

As we gear up for the 2015 Butler, Warren, and Clinton Counties Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease on September 12th in  West Chester, Hillandale Communities three locations are doing various things to raise funds for Alzheimer's programs and research. There have been craft sales, flower sales, and more. However, involving our memory-care residents in the quilt project has been very rewarding and especially personal given the cause. Activities such as sewing and painting can assist our residents with stimulating the brain and hands, and aiding in socialization - to name but a few positive outcomes.

Raffle tickets are available from any of the three Hillandale facilities to win this lovely quilt!  $5.00 per chance. Proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Cincinnati to help support programs and research. Get yours at the front desk(s). They will be available through September 12, 2015 when the quilt is raffled after the 2015 Butler, Warren and Clinton Counties Walk to End Alzheimer's at Voice of America Park, 7850 VOA Park Drive, West Chester, Ohio 45069.
